The Manhattan Express: Sculptor Jane Manus

Jane Manus is a modern day abstract sculptor and minimalist carrying the torch of past constructivist sculptors who came before her. Born in 1951 in New York City, Manus was inspired by industrial materials and aesthetics of the early constructivist revolutionaries. Working with geometry, gravity and asymmetry, Manus’ sculptures are welded from metal and incorporate jewel tones of deep blues, reds, and yellows.

Manus’ sculptures are exhibited worldwide due to the strength of her installations. A woman wielding the tools of creations, translating space and forms, she is a warrior in the art world. The metal is rendered into sophisticated, elegant shapes, creating a great sense of brilliance and expertise. Considered a trail blazing artist, Jane Manus continues to expand the concept of sculpture and design. View her works currently on display at DTR Modern Galleries in SoHo and Palm Beach.
