Keith Haring
(1958-1990 American) Keith Haring was greatly influenced by popular culture and cartoons such as those by Dr. Seuss and Walt Disney.  After moving to New York City, Haring was introduced to an alternative culture, one that lived in the subways and underground clubs.  In time, Haring’s art became what is known as ‘public art’ or art for the people.
